Graphic Design Theater Posters for Cabrillo Playhouse were designed by me while I went to Westwood.
While enrolled at Westwood College, I was fortunate to have one of the best advertising teachers, and he was able to secure some real “clients.” One of the clients was a local community theatre, the Cabrillo Playhouse. The first project we did for them was the “Dial M for Murder” design, and I was so proud of the one I created — as was the teacher and the class. We had two other layouts thrown together very quickly, but everyone was sure that my piece would be the selected piece.
The client did not want scissors; it seemed, so it was taken out of the contest right at the start. I was distraught, but it was a good learning experience
The next layout we did for them was for the production of “First Night,” and on this one, I did win on the selection. It was used for the posters, postcards, and the playbill. That is how my Graphic Design Theater Posters for Cabrillo Playhouse were used.
